Small eloquent peaceful black waves
the glossy moonlight reflecting of off them
and warmth what utter warmth on that island
the breeze blowing warm air
flows down from the peaks of rocky mountains
through a dense path past dark green underbrush
and through the reedy leaves of compressed palm trees
a horses canter heard in the vastness, though very close
it strides close to me, senses me
its dark coat reflects the vivid moonlight, but no brand
I reach for its velvety snout to stroke
It jolts slightly then nervously allows me
To caress its umber hair
I’ve met a new companion, but soon it will leave
Never to be seen again
Or will it?
The scent of free green pastures is wafted as it canters away
Back into woodland
The aroma of pure nature is wonderful
And falling asleep…
To the sound of waves…
the glossy moonlight reflecting of off them
and warmth what utter warmth on that island
the breeze blowing warm air
flows down from the peaks of rocky mountains
through a dense path past dark green underbrush
and through the reedy leaves of compressed palm trees
a horses canter heard in the vastness, though very close
it strides close to me, senses me
its dark coat reflects the vivid moonlight, but no brand

The scent of free green pastures is wafted as it canters away
